Hey there, I’m Guil, one of DisCO’s design leads. I’m originally from Rio de Janeiro, but lived in many countries and have been based in Berlin since 2016. Been working as a designer for over a decade – wearing many creative hats along the way. In the past few years I’ve been performing mainly as a Motion Designer and Art Director. You can check some of my works here. I’m also a collage artist. I’m fascinated by what emerges from the act of dismantling images and recombining them into new formats and narratives.
If you had your human body, but the head of an animal, what animal would you pick?
An elephant. Call me Ganesh, remover of obstacles.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Dream travel. Not a classic superpower, but how awesome would it be to be able to meet people in an ethereal, non-local lucid dream space?
If you could add a word to the dictionary what would you add and what would it mean?
Compersion: 1) Vicarious joy associated with seeing one’s friend or partner have a joyful romantic or sexual relation with another. 2) The opposite of jealousy or envy.
Do you collect anything?
Yes, I collect images! Lots of them, virtual and analog. Then I cut them up and paste them with other images. Something magical happens in my brain when I do this.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Lucid dreaming.
